The current version of 2019 will create an sdlxliff from Excel using "SpreadsheetML v.1" if it's an XLSX or "XLS v 3.0.0.0" if it's an XLS.  It will not create the sdlxliff using "Excel 2007 v 2.0.0.0".  You have not shared what version of 2019 you have, the current being:

Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.8.3007
MultiTerm 2019 - 15.0.6.56482

So I suggest you first of all make sure you have got the latest version of 2019 installed.  Then, recreate your project and pre-translate from your TM.  If you already have this version installed, or if you upgrade and the problem continues when you recreate the sdlxliff (don't just open up the one you created before), then close Studio, and delete this file:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2019\Project Templates\Default.sdltpl

Then restart Studio and recreate your project using the default project template and see if this helps.

Please see if the following steps help:

1. Click on Project settings 
2. Click on File Types 
3. Click on Additional installed File Types exist
4. Select Microsoft Excel 2007-2016
5. Click Ok
6. Run again the Batch task (Export files) operation

thanks for your answer unfortunately that didnt help but i do get another error

we use the Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.8.3007 Version is this the newest one? cant find anymore updates.

i tried the suggested things but it endet up with the same error.

as mentioned the Version is SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.8.3007.

we also tried new projects with completely other files all ending in the same error.

Hello Elisa Maxim, I have the same problem as David Haag. In your step 3 I cannot find "Additional installed File Types exist". I searched also in the subfolders. Where do I find that please? Thank you so much in advance! Best regards Karin
