Hello, we are importing Word 2017 files into Trados 19. In the import options the "extract comments" is activatet.
My problem is that the comments (German) are also translated into English by deepl. Is it possible to prevent this?
Thanks

Hi Michiel Muller
I assume you have COM on the right hand side of your file, as I do in my example screen print?
1. What you can do is use the advanced display filter
2. Filter for all COM segments
3. Batch Lock (Ctrl+Shift) them and by right clicking on the segment numbers select lock
Once locked, you can then run your pre-translations and perform your other linguistic tasks without disrupting these COM segments

I hope this helps

Thank you for your tip. It works like you explained.
But there is no way to filter just for the "COM" parts? So we could "block segment" much more easily?
Maybe possible in Studio 2021?
Michael
Thank you for confirming it worked.
I don't know in what way we can make this more user friendly, given the display filter already does most of all the hard work?
If you have a think, do post it to your ideas group so it can be taken into consideration. You can do this here: https://community.rws.com/ideas/translation-productivity-ideas/

It can't be easier. Just filter out all segments as Lydia has shown above in the screenshot. When you have all COM segments displayed, select them all, then press Ctrl + Insert, then press Ctrl + L to lock all segments as is.
