Hello there,
We have a number of PPTX presentations where some formulae are contained like the ones here below (IN RED).
Is there a way to set SDL in order to be able to translate them?
We use Studio 2017
Can you share a single slide with some of these formulae in there? Sometimes these things are put in there by 3rd party plugins, sometimes they are images. If we can see a file then we can provide you with a more helpful response.

Yes I did. Many apologies for not coming back to you. I checked with the core development team, fist of all to make sure that this formula wasn't placed by some third party product as this can cause problems for the PowerPoint filetype. It wasn't, it's actually out of the box functionality that was used. However, it seems we do not extract this information at all. This isn't a bug, it's just something we don't extract.
The best thing I can suggest is you log this request in the ideas site:

I did have a play with the underlying XML itself, but I was unable to find the text so I couldn't find a workaround either. In reality the workaround would only be worth it if you had many slides and many formulae to deal with. Hopefully you have not and the best solution is probably to simply manually translate the text in the Power Point file after translating in Trados Studio.

I'd also add that I tested this with 2021 as well... same result.

Thanks a lot Paul. The good news is that so far we do not have much text in this form. So we will recurr to the old trick of copying and pasting on a Word file. Hopefully the next 300 powerpoints do not contain more.
I shall lot the request in the ideas site when I have two minutes.
I will be back tomorrow with a tricky (or trickier) issue.
