Please confirm which Studio version are you using and if it seems file specific or does it crash with other files too?
In the meantime I will run some checks to see what I can reproduce

Hi Lydia, I use Trados 2021 Freelance, here's the release info: Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.8.4404

I downloaded the plugins (subtitle plugin and *srt filetype plugin) yesterday/today and disabled one of the *srt file type checkboxes in the Options/File Types menu (only the file type from the freshly downloaded plugin is activated). The video file is in mp4 format.
As long as I don't use the "Subtitle Preview" control in the View Ribbon, Trados will work. It's only when I actually try to use that, that it crashes. I am currently working using only the Subtitle Data Control.

I have run a few tests with my local files and so far I have managed to open the Preview command without any issue.

My Studio version is: 2021 SR2 -16.2.9.9198

Subtitling plugin v. 2.2.4.0 (for Studio 2021)

Can you please try the following:

1. Ensure that the media path and the file path are on local folder.

2. Do you have other files, to try and open a different video?

3. If it's possible and the above did not help, can you share the files with me so myself and  can run additional tests?
