A TM (translation memory) stores translation units (TUs) which can be a word or an entire sentence.

A TB (Termbase) stores terms.

Perhaps, downloading IATE Real-time Terminology plug-in could be useful for medical terms.

Just in case... although a termbase does sound more useful... you could also create a translation memory from the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) and then use fragment matching to assist with terminology?
