Path not found is due to your other software, "cleaning" the content of the windows tmp folder. Configure your anti virus and other software not to empty the content of the said folder.

Reset Studio according to the description here https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039395 and then reinstall (you do not need to uninstall) using the latest installer, run as admin.

This should solve most of your problems. Do not use ANY project templates from previous versions. Keep your folder and files structure tidy.

As antivirus I only have the AVG free version: how and where can I tell it not to empty the content of the tmp folder?

And which "other software" should I configure not to empty this folder? 

POSITIVE THING: at least I managed to "repair" Trados Studio 2021 SR2 from the control panel - let's see if the problem persists.

Go to AVG settings and check automated tasks. I do not know AVG, so please use the help for this program to find out, how to configure it. Other software could be PC cleaner or similar.

Thank you, but I have not yet had the time to check this. I have a brand new problem today: I am creating a (local) project with 8 totally normal Word files (from a client I have already worked for in the past) and I cannot create the project because Trados tells me that "The project must include at least one translatable file"... but they are normal Word files - closed (not poen in Word) and with no apparent issue.

I am getting crazy with this last Trados version, believe me! :-(((((

Close Studio, restart your PC. Then use a different project template to create the project, adapt the settings to match the previous template and when finishing the project overwrite the old template with these new settings.

Guess what? Another brand new problem right now... Can't create a project because file "is already in use by another process", but taht is not true: files are closed and only Trados is open!

Closing everthing and restarting the PC is the first thing I did, but it did not work.

This thing of templates, in fact, I never understood it. But I have worked for decades without knowing about it... why all these problems now??

I work both EN-IT and IT-EN and I creatre a project for each job I get, with one or more TMs for each customer...

Guess what? Me too, as such things do happen only to other people, never to me. Did you restart your PC? Are you sure, the file in question is a Word docx file and not a rtf file with other file name extension? After restarting your PC open the offending file(s) in Word and save each and every one with a new name as docx. Then try again.

Could you also please elaborate on "Opening a project in <All language pairs>"? A project has always only ONE source language and one or more target languages. In your case EN-IT or IT-EN. Placing your TM in all language pairs OR in the certain language pair makes no difference. You only may NOT put a TM in both places at the same time.

From what I understand this would usually happen, if a conversion process (for example for a old doc file to docx) in the background is performed and hangs. This is why I asked you to open all such files in Word and save these with new names and in the latest available format.

Yes, some are Word files converted from PDFs, so now I am doing and redoing the process again and again... but in the past, with previous Trados versions I mean, this worked normally. I have never had all these problems... Are you going to fix the last release again?

Unfortunately, this means that the problems must be related to the architecture of your PC and the files and folders structure you use. Sorry, but I cannot help you more. I have no clue what is happening there. But I really haven't seen such problems since a very, very long time.
