Trados 2021 cannot open Figma xliff

Question

Hi there 
 A client of mine designs the views of a software application in Figma and asked me to translate them. With the help of the CopyDoc Figma plugin, he exported xliff files which I wanted to work on in Trados (2021). Unfortunately, though, Trados cannot open them. It gives me two errors (see below in German). The first one is weird because I have XLIFF 2.0 installed, and I don't get the second one. 
 Anyway, is there anyone else translating Figma xliffs in Trados? Does it work for you? What do I have to do to make it work?

Thanks for sending me the file. The problem is that these files are using invalid tokens for the id attributes in various places. For example they are using these:

These are just two examples of where these are not valid values for name tokens (NMTOKEN) under the XLIFF specification... there are more. This is so fundamental to using XLIFF correctly that the default filetypes in Trados Studio will not accept this.

There is a workaround though using the MultilingualXML filetype from the appstore as this doesn't care about specifications or whether the files you are handling are valid XLIFF or not. As long as they are well formed, and they are, you will be able to manage them. So I suggest you take a look at this wiki and give the MultilingualXML filetype a go:
