  • Hi  ,

Walter's suggestion (higher-up on this page) is accurate.

I'll provide some additional background information regarding this scenario: Studio uses a HTTPS GET request to https://1.1.1.1 in order to check its connection to the Internet. A failure to respond from the URL will trigger the "No Internet Connection" message; even if your computer is connected to the Internet. This happens because your Firewall or ISP (Internet Service Provider) blocks access to this URL. However, the error message is more of a nuissance as Studio functionality (which requires Internet access) shouldn't be affected. Nonetheless, we have flagged this behavior with our engineering team (filed internally under CRQ-24053); we're basically asking them to improve this "check" so that we don't provide incorrect messages to our users.

How to identify where the error comes from: try to access https://1.1.1.1 in your Internet Browser. If:

    • The page opens in your browser, then there might be a local issue with your Studio installation. If that's the case, one of our Engineers can have a look at that via a remote session.
    • The page doesn't open in your browser, then:
      • Access might be blocked by your firewall. The problem here is that Windows Firewall (by default) shouldn't come with any restrictions set to it. So, if you haven't previously added any restrictions here the firewall shouldn't block anything
      • Acess might be blocked by your ISP. There's not a lot we can do here as we don't have control over this aspect. In this situation, a conversation needs to happen with your ISP, you should let them know that https://1.1.1.1 is blocked and that you need it available

Before making any assumptions though, please run try to access https://1.1.1.1 in your browser and we'll take it from there.

    Hope this helps,

    Vlad
