Zero added to the beginning of single digit when propagating and hyphens not displaying

When using the NEW Trados 2022, which, at first impression, is awesome, BTW, I am having a couple of issues I do not understand. It could be only me, but did not have this issue previously.

I notice that the hyphens are not displaying neither in the source nor the target. Did not have this issue in 2021.Screenshot of Trados Studio 2022 showing missing hyphens in both source and target text segments.

Another thing that is driving me crazy is that it automatically places a zero in front of single digits when propagating itself.Screenshot of Trados Studio 2022 displaying an issue where a zero is automatically added before a single digit in the target segment.

When I preview the document, the hyphens are there and also the zeros.

Anyone else having this issue?

Thank you in advance to whomever responds.

  • Hi

While I acknowledge your 2021 experience is not the same as 2022 I am keen to explore your TM.

I think this is down to your TM Settings as I am able to reproduce some of what you are mentioning.
In particular the 6:26 being localised as 06:26
Screenshot showing Trados Studio interface with a time format mismatch error highlighted, source time 6:26-30 and target time 06:26.

If you go to your TM settings and then Language Resources - and lets go to your Target Time.
    In my case German

Screenshot of Translation Memory Settings in Trados Studio with Language Resources for English-German selected, showing options for recognizing dates, times, and other variables.

You can expand the drop down list and see that hh is marked as 01-12
Where as h is just 1-12

Screenshot of Time Formats dialog in Trados Studio displaying different time format options with examples, such as 'h' for 1-12 and 'hh' for 01-12.

So lets set your time as h:m
Screenshot showing the Time Formats dialog in Trados Studio with custom time format 'h:m' selected, displaying example 12:12.

I now get the same time format between source & target

Screenshot showing Trados Studio interface with corrected time format, source time 6:26-30 and target time 6:26.

Now as you see when exploring your TM settings there are lots of options, including hyphens.
I am not sure what you have set in your TM but its worth checking.

I hope this helps and that you have a good day
