SEGMENTATION RULES

Hello guys,

I have been searching in the web information about segmentation rules and I can really not understand it.  So, let’s see you anybody can give a help.

I am mainly translating movies and Mexican soap operas for dubbing studios in Brazil.

So, for me, translating and adapting to text to Brazilian culture is a very important point, but Lip Sync, metrics are also, very, very important.

For that matter, I find very important to segment the more I can.  I have been doing it manually for some months and it takes me hours of my week.  I have now find that I can segment inside Trados, what I really appreciated. So, I managed to split sentences with “,” “!?” “/” “;”.

What I could not manage in trados is to split sentence with words (prepositions).  Now I have been trying to spit a sentence in “{space} que {space}” [that] in Spanish, but it is splitting every time the characters “q”, “u” and “e” shows up.  I have tried several things.  I entered the text with coma, used the regular expression but still, It did not work.  It would save me hours of work.

Many, many thanks,

Can anyone give me a help on this?
