Trados doesn't recognize numbers

Hi,

I am experiencing some issues with the QA functionality in Trados.

I have a technical project with roughly 50.000 words. There are lots and lots of numbers and formula. One of the specifications was to add an unbreakable space between any value and its unit.

Ex. 100W => 100 W

Unfortunately, Trados identifies each iteration as an error, as the numbers are presented differently.

Can you help me explain the system that these numbers are OK? I’m not looking forward to “ignoring” more than 5.000 errors :/

  • I do not know what's your problem clearly though
    I do know Trados has out_of_box Number verifier "Bug" (at least my version 2017)

    The following result has 2 big problems
    - a wrong positve bug (segment number 5)
    - a wrong negatve bug (segment number 6)

    Screenshot of Trados Studio showing an error message 'Extra number in target segment' for segment number 5, highlighted in orange.

    So
    I did not have any choice but to make my own Verifier.

    The following result does not have above 2 big problems
    -the first one is its result (of course, Filtered and Highlighted)  <-- Orange means OK, Cyan means Nah...
    -the 2nd one is the same as above without Filter/Highlighting.

    Screenshot of Trados Studio with custom Verifier results, segment number 5 highlighted in orange indicating an issue, and segment number 6 in cyan indicating no issue.
