Problems with the memory update function when trying to update it by aligning new files in SDL Trados Studio 2021

Question

Hello, 
 I have created a memory that so far has around 2500 segments. I have tried to update it with an alignment but when I check the memory, no new segments have been added. The thing is that if I try and search for a word from the source document of this latest alignment - a word that has not come up previously in the existing segments- then I can see the segments containing that word. But neither those same segments nor the other parts of the alignment show up when I look again at the memory without the search filter. I don't know what's causing this. Hope somebody will be able to help me out here.

 How do you look at the TM? You can find latest TUs added to the TM only at the end of the TM, so you'd need to click on this button to go to the last page of the TM:

 If you still you can't see those segments, you might need to Upgrade your TM, recommended step if the TM icon has a small orange triangle: 
 
 Another way to quickly confirm that segments have been added to the TM would be to create a dummy project with the original file used for the alignment and then use the TM to pre-translate. If everything went well, segments should be pre-translated.
