I don't know what ticket this is under, but have you got a workaround in the meantime?  The most common problem relates to this attribute:

o-tmf="some text in here"

If you delete this attribute altogether the import often just works.

I don t know under what ticket it is. I was just told that the technical team was working on it since you couldn t solve the problem. 

I do work on trados 2017 now. I import the files there and open the document up in trados 2022.

I was just worreid as I have updated mu trados 2017 to 2022 so my trados 2017 will disappear if a buy a new computer or my computer crashes and then I am not able to work with trados 2022 since none of the files in the TMX are imported and I get no suggestions at all.

My internal case number: CRQ-31197

Thanks Jenny Grela , by ticket I actually needed CRQ-31197, so that was helpful.

The work isn't planned in yet so I don't think we can provide a fix date, but the suggested solution was related to what I said.  If you delete the o-tmf="some text in here" attribute then you'll be able to import your TMX.

I do recall this being a problem in even older versions of Studio, it all depended on what value the o-tmf used.

So simple fix for you for now, and I'm sure the dev team will get around to this and include in a future version once it makes sense to plan it in with other work.

My TMX contain sometimes more then 60 files if I shall do this for every file it would take a lot of time

I never had this problem with trados 2017.

Do you think a solution will be found for trados 2022 and that it will be possible to fix this problem with an update to trados 2022 in the near future?

If you open a tmx i a text editor you will something like this:

Yours may not be exactly the same, but your problem files for importing probably contain the highlighted o-tmf attribute.  The text inside the quotes might be different, it just depends on where the tmx came from.

So by deleting it I mean change this:

<header creationtool="SDL Language Platform" creationtoolversion="8.0" o-tmf="SDL TM8 Format" datatype="xml"

to this:

<header creationtool="SDL Language Platform" creationtoolversion="8.0" datatype="xml"

The o-tmf attribute isn't needed for the import, but some content causes a problem.  So just remove it by deleting it.

You mean you have 60 different TMX files?  No problem!  If you use something like Notepad++ as your text editor.  It's free and is available here:

https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/

Then you can delete this from all the files in one go.  Here's a short video to explain how, and the regular expression I used was this:

o-tmf="[^"]+"

no I have one TMX file containing 60 files sometimes.

I ll have a look at your video. I hope I will understand I am not a technical person at all so all of this is quite new. But I ll try.

You mean should you delete all your TMX files after importing them successfully?  That's up to you.  If you want to keep them then don't, if you have no other use for them then go ahead and delete them.  It's a good idea to always export your updated SDLTM to a TMX on a regular basis anyway.  Keep a backup and update it at appropriate intervals... so maybe export a new copy every week for example.  Just in case your SDTM ever has a problem it's easy to recover from a TMX.

I have no idea.  I would say not as this is so simple to fix in the TMX files it probably has a lower priority than other things.  It's also TMX files that come from some other system so that also lowers the priority... a problem with a TMX from Studio would be bad!

Having said that, if the fix in the program is simple the developer might do it when working on something else.  The support team will be able to update you if they gave you a CRQ number as they will be tracking it through a support account.

Ana from the trados support said that it also worked for her in trados 2021.

Anyway I ll try to do as you did in the video and I hope that It will work out fine for me.

There has been a tonne of changes in the software since 2017.  It's often amazing how one small change can affect something you would never have even thought to look at, and can easily be missed when you consider how many scenarios for a problem to arise there are... thousands!

I'm sure this exercise will give you confidence to look at many more things than you might have considered in the past.  Once you start looking at this sort of detail and understanding what you are looking at a little the adventure begins!

I we been looking for notepad++ and I get a lot of alternatives notepad++7.8.9 or  8.2.1. I dont know what version I shall download. I would be very helpful if you could send me a link of the version that I should downlaod since this i completely new territory for me.
