The Preview is triggered by default with the shortcut key CTL+P. If you press CTRL+P, do you get the same result as pressing the P key alone? If so, maybe the CTRL key is stuck in the Pressed position. It happens to me with miss behaving AutoHotkey scripts.

Anyway you can easily try to revert to the Release state by pressing each of the CTRL keys once.

That was my best guess. Replace window is also triggered, and this is compatible with the effect of the CTRL key stuck after pressing the H key. Are there any more functions triggered like that?

What don't you understand? Pressing the CTRL key in your keyboard? Did you try?

Thanks for the attempt. However, I am definitely not pressing either P or H on my keyboard every time that happens. I just wasn't sure what you meant be releasing the CTRL button as mine does not seem to be stuck or locked, as everything functions normally otherwise.

This event is consistently triggered when I attempt any kind of typing while Studio is busy searching a TM result. I have no clear insight into when the preview is triggered and when the replace is triggered but the latter is significantly less frequent.

So you have the issue while The Translations Results window shows Searching…, right?

Sorry I can't repro it in my Trados Studio 2022, build 17.0.4.13209.

If you could give us more details, such as the version and build number, and if the issue is gone after restarting Studio, maybe another peer can help here.

Yes, that is correct. I have seen quite a few complaints about that problem recently on the internet, you can easily find them by looking for 'trados studio preview triggered repeatedly' for example, without any solution, although I am not sure that the circumstances are identical to mine, as they may have involved an external server, but then again, they may be similar because, as mentioned, they seem to be unresolved as well to date. Clearly, studio reacts to random key presses while it is busy doing something else, to the effect that preview (or occasionally replace) is triggered.

I tried it... can only find a few (non similar) results from some years ago.  I don't think studio generally reacts in the way you describe, but I do believe there is either a sticky key problem as Jesús noted, or maybe a keyboard shortcut conflict perhaps with another application you use, or a driver issue... something like that.

Try closing every other application you are running, including those running in your taskbar in the background, and then see if the problem still occurs?

Also, as it's only the preview that seems to be affected, you could try removing or changing the shortcuts from here and work a while to see if the problem continues in some way?

I will try that, thanks. Will the modified settings persist or will I have to change them again after every shut down?
