I've just added a new request in the Ideas section https://community.rws.com/ideas/trados-portfolio-ideas/i/trados-studio/make-control-backspace-shortcut-delete-the-word-before-cursor in order to get the CONTROL+BACKSPACE shortcut working in some places.
If you like to work with CONTROL+BACKSPACE and CONTROL+DELETE shortcuts consistently in Trados Studio and in the same way as Microsoft Word does, please vote for that idea in the link above.
