I have Trados Studio 2021 SR2 - 16.2.12.9338.
Every month I import an xliff package from client's World Server to translate.
This time, when I try to import, in the Preparing Package for Import stage, I get the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error and cannot import the package for translation. I tried creating a new package from the WS and got the same result. I tried restarting Trados, same result.
How do I fix this so that I can translate the files?

I am still having this problem. Right before the Object reference error pops up, it shows "Processing termbase". I have reinstalled the WS compatibility pack and tried everything else suggested. I am still unable to open any WS packages, even though others can open the same packages.

I'm facing the same issue using Trados 2017 and Windows 11. Have you had any luck with this? I have tried re-install to no avail. I also tried repair, no change. It seems that something that has to do with Windows.
Hi Charlie Kocsis : when a WSXZ package cannot be opened, usually the issue is with its content, with some exceptions. It could also be a problem with your Studio version, which is old and no longer supported. If you want, you can send me the WSXZ package at clazzarini@sdl.com and I will have a look.

The package is importable on other computers, running the same Trados version.
It is something on that computer that seem to create this error.
The user had OneDrive and seems to be trace of DropBox that is no longer installed. I had to handle users with DropBox or OneDrive, but it was a different message that I had.
Right now, as soon as the "Preparing Package for Import" procedure starts, I get the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
The computer runs Windows 11, latest version, was last updated in February. The error started to occur around a few days ago. Before that, it was working fine.
The user doesn't recall any specific change to the computer since it stopped working.

If the issue is with the Studio 2017 installation, I am afraid I cannot comment much further. I am a WorldServer engineer so I was hoping to be able to help you by checking the package. Has the user already tried to place the wsxz package on her/his local computer, i.e. on her Desktop and open it from there?

Yes I've tried to copy the package onto the C drive and import from there. The same situation remains.
