Hello,
Is there a way to count the number of Asian characters in Trados exactly the same way as MS Word (including punctuation, excluding non-Asian words)?
I’ve been quoting this way for my direct clients for a long time because it is more transparent than using CAT word counts for the clients. If the client sends me a Word doc, it’s easy to check the MS Word count, but it’s less convenient if they send me some other file format like Excel or Powerpoint.

Hi Mark Weatherall - this is being looked into by the Trados AppStore Team under our reference SDLCOM-4214. The idea would be we add this support to Trados Analyse.

This work has not been planned. The item is still on the backlog but it has a very low priority for us against other work. Your best bet is to make this an idea in the AppStore ideas site and see whether anyone else supports it. Without that I doubt this will be prioritised any time soon.
Not great news for you I know, but I think it's better you see the reality of where this sits in our workload.
