Creating/saving translation memory

Hi,

I have a problem with creating translation memories- meaning, a file is always created, however, sometimes all goes well and sometimes the new file is empty!!! no translation units!!! I've tried creating the memory both with the option of the wizard and through project settings...

Any suggestions?

please????

Thanks,

Halli

Just to make sure there is no misunderstanding here about the basic functioning: how do you verify that the segments you confirmed are really stored in the TM?
In case you do this in the view "Translation Memories", let me point out that this is not really a good way to do such a check and that you need to browse pages forward in order to see the segments past the first 50 (unless you have changed the setting to display 200 segments per page).
The easiest way to check whether a segment you have translated is in your TM is to put the cursor back into a segment and see what is displayed in the "Translation Results" window above the Editor. It should show your translation along with the user and time stamp and also in which TM it is (in case you have more than one).
This is the proper way to check whether TM updating really works.

I can't imagine that your TM gets updated and then suddenly "stops taking in translation units" as you say. It would only do this if you uncheck the "Update" check-box or do not confirm the segment.
