How to use English as a bridge for translating a file in a rare linguistic combination?

Hi All! I need to translate a file from SL>DA. 
 In order to do that I would like to translate the file from SL>EN and then a colleague of mine will translate the file from EN>DA. The client wants that I deliver a bilingual xliff SL>DA. 
 I have done this in the past working with bilingual versions of Word. So creating a Word bilingual SL-EN, then a Word bilingual EN-DA and in the end imported on Trados the Word bilingual SL-DA, which I created manually using the SL and DA columns. But this is complicated (particularly for the tags) and time-consuming. 
 Is there an easier way to work with 3 languages on Trados using EN as a bridge?

 ok - based on EXACTLY what you said here, is your source file an XLIFF with only SL populated? If it is you could easily add both EN and DA as additional languages to this XLIFF seeing as XLIFF can actually be multilingual and then use the Multilingual XML filetype to handle the XLIFF in any way you like. 
 You could deliver the final translated XLIFF with all three languages in there, or just remove the EN so it only contained SL and DA. 
 So I guess the starting point of this question is what format is your source in, and when you say XLIFF is this what you mean? We can also convert any file supported by Trados Studio into a simple XLIFF file (so not SDLXLIFF, just a basic XLIFF) if necessary.
