Painfully slow QA verification

Hello,

I am using Studio 2022. My client’s recent 20,000 word project has produced more than 1,000 verification messages (most of them false positives). When going through the QA, each time I click to ignore an error, there is a delay of a few seconds. When fixing errors, the delay is even longer (sometimes more than 20 seconds). This is making QA checking extremely painful. Is this normal behaviour from Trados and is there any way to speed up QA checking?

Thanks!

  • Hello Mark,

I understand that you're experiencing slow QA verification in Trados Studio 2022, which can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can try to speed up the QA checking process:

Step 1: Adjust QA Checker settings

Go to the Options/Project Settings dialog box, select Verification in the navigation pane, and then deselect some of the QA Checker 3.0 options that may not be relevant to your project. This can help reduce the number of false positives and improve performance.

    Step 2: Update Trados Studio

Ensure that you're using the latest version of Trados Studio 2022. Check for updates within the application and install any available updates.

Step 3: Optimize your computer's performance

Close any unnecessary applications running in the background to free up system resources. Additionally, consider increasing your computer's RAM or upgrading to a faster hard drive (such as an SSD) to improve overall performance.

Step 4: Divide the project into smaller segments

If the project is still slow, consider dividing it into smaller segments. This can help improve the performance of the QA verification process.

Step 5: Use third-party QA tools

You can also explore third-party QA tools available in the RWS AppStore, which may offer better performance and additional features.

If you've tried these steps and are still experiencing slow QA verification, it might be worth reaching out to RWS Support for further assistance.

    Best regards,
