When I try to add a new docx file to an existing project, I get stuck at this stage. The adding never finishes and there's no error message after several minutes. Is there anything I can do here?

I don't believe so, I have no termbase set up for the project.
However, I seem to figure out where the problem lies but not how to solve it. If I create a new project and not add a TM to it, the file is added as normal. If I use the TM I normally use for that language pair, the error occurs. However, it only occurs for this file (and some other files generated for me using the same method), I can add other docx files (created with Google docs for example) normally.
Also, the files I'm talking about could be added normally earlier.
