I am pretty sure that the list of plug-ins that you open on the Add-ins ribbon (why the different terms?) used to work like this: It was possible to temporarily deactivate a plug-in without uninstalling it, by simply uncheck its checkbox in the list and then restarting Studio. But now, unchecking the checkbox does not achieve anything. Why is that?

You are right, should be able to temporarily deactive the plugin without uninstalling it.
I am not aware of it not working, so please can you provide some more details, like what is it you are trying to deactivate and what is your Studio versions.

This phenomenon may relate in partucular to MT add-ins. When I tried with Wordlight and Wordbird, it worked as it should. But with some MT plug-ins, you can see the result for yourself:
Another complication is the lack of coherence between the names in the two lists. (I can't even find Intento on the plug-ins list!)
Furthermore: what is the difference between add-ins and plug-ins?
