Yeah, because the regex \s matches a return as well.

Go to Advanced View, and set it something like this:

On the left hand side: FIG\.

On the right hand side: [space brought by ALT+0160]\d

Note that \d is optional, but it helps to recognize the leading space.

Not tested though. Could you confirm it works?

I don't think you need an exception rule here.  Just add a new abbreviation of FIG. to your TM like this:

This corrects the segmentation to this:

Based on your query, it seems you want to set an exception to the segmentation rule for NBSP in Trados Studio. Here's how you can do it:

Great... glad it was useful.  I guess what you need now is a new segmentation rule to break on the tab and separate the numbers from the text.  You'll get better leverage from your TM that way.
