Merging 50-74% segments and No match segments in analysis results

How to merge the 50-74% match and No match columns in the analysis results, or, alternatively, how to tune the limits of match results columns?

Most people, including agencies, actually consider 50-74% match segments as No match segments. It means those 50-74% segments are included in the Analogy column, under the Files tab, while it would be more useful or realistic to have them in the No Match column.

If there is no way to do it, I will suggest it in the Ideas forum.

Thanks in advance

  • You're right.

I changed the Fuzzy bands in the File>Options window (not from the Project settings) when I was in my previous project.

I thought that with that change done from the Options, the change would be general, like for other settings, not only for the ongoing project.
I just checked, and the 50-74% band I had removed reappeared in the Options (at least when I was in the newly created project).

So, I eliminated the project, went back in the Options to remove the 50-74% band, then recreated a new project.
And the band still appeared in the Wizard:
Trados Studio screenshot showing the 'Niveaux d'analogies' options with the 50-74% band highlighted and a red box indicating it should be removed.

I understand that the Fuzzy bands were set in the template for that client. So I had to remove that fuzzy band from the Wizard, then update the template at the end of the process. And it worked:
Trados Studio screenshot displaying a table with Fuzzy bands, where the 50-74% band is present despite the user's attempt to remove it, indicated by a red arrow.
So, it should also work in the future, without having to change it again.

It means that the change in the Options does not propagate to existing Project templates (which is logical, after all) and I will have to update all my templates next time I will use them.
However, I assume any new template will now be created according to the changed Options (without than Fuzzy band).

Thank you for your help, Paul
