How to edit Document Structure Information

HI. I'm translating a document with context menu and header. In the original document, the header and description are correctly separated, but in the translated half, some of the description text is tagged as header.

Is there any way to edit tags to change "H" to "P".

Are there any way to edit Document Structure Information, to change for example H to P ?Screenshot of Trados Studio showing document structure with incorrect header tags highlighted in yellow. Some description text is mistakenly tagged as 'H' instead of 'P'.

  • Hello,

I understand you're having trouble with the document structure information in Trados Studio. Unfortunately, Trados Studio does not allow direct editing of the Document Structure Information (DSI) to change tags like "H" to "P". The DSI is generated based on the original document's formatting and structure.

However, you can try the following workaround:

Step 1: Open the original source document in its native application (like Word, Excel, etc.).

Step 2: Modify the formatting of the text that is incorrectly tagged as a header to match the formatting of the paragraph text.

Step 3: Save the changes to the source document.

Step 4: Import the modified source document into Trados Studio and check if the DSI is now correctly identifying the text.

Remember, this workaround depends on the original document's formatting and may not work in all cases. Always make sure to keep a backup of your original document before making any changes.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Best regards,
