Hi Oana,
I experienced the very same problem after I installed the latest update that was offered a couple of days ago (version 17.2.8.18668). Luckily, this time I still had the old version in my download folder (version 17.1.8.17828). This old version is working just fine but the update I am being offered (Studio still tries to convince me to install the update) is useless for me.
Maybe this helps your development team because I was told in August/September that there was 1 other person experiencing the same.
Best wishes,
Regina

Problem solved now: Reason was that my anti-virus blocked Google Chrome and Trados uses Goodle Chrome to make the connection.
I found that out when other programs started having similar problems. Each time it turned out that they wanted to connect through Google Chrome.
