Transfer of Trados Studio file back into Madcap Lingo produces errors

My client sent me a file from Madcap Lingo (xxx.htm.xlf). I imported it into Studio (Trados Studio 2019), translated it without any problems and created a target translation, which I then returned to the client. The client gets the following error when trying to reimport the file I sent:

The XLIFF in Test 1209.htm.xlf is no longer valid, so you will need to contact the translator to repair it: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: Corrupted nodes in translation units.

Can anyone help resolve this?

    Without seeing the file it's tricky to determine the real cause of the error since the error message you provide is coming from Madcap which is not our product.  If I was to hazard a guess based on this part:

    I'd say you have included segmentation information in the target file and Madcap doesn't know how to handle it.  So check and see if you have this checked in your project settings:

    If you do then recreate your project with it checked, pre-translate the file and then save the target again.

    If that isn't the problem you will have either have your customer tell you exactly what that error message refers to so you know what needs fixing, or provide a copy of the original source file and the updated target file so we can compare them and see if we can work out what the problem might be.

    Hi Paul,

    thank you so much for your reply and your suggestion to check the "Add segmentation information to the translated file".

    In the meantime, my client did some research in Madcap and sent me exact instructions. The instructions say that the file I receive from Madcap, which is a .zip file, cannot be unpacked (which is what I did above) but must be imported into Trados Studio as a .zip file and then exported as a zip file again.

    Is it even possible to import a zip file - which contains the file to be translated - into Studio? I tried and got the following error: The project must include at least one translatable file.
