My Studio does not "see" the footnotes in a *.pptx presentation

Hello Community,

My Studio 2022 (SR1 17.1.7.17560) does not detect the footnotes in the slides of a PowerPoint (2019) presentation, which is quite awkward, as the slide texts are only 141 words, while the foot notes are 558 words!

Which of the file settings hereafter is wrong? Or did I miss anything elsewhere?

TIA.

  • Hello Gérard,

It seems like you're having trouble with Trados Studio not detecting footnotes in your PowerPoint presentation. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this issue:

    Step 1: Open Trados Studio.

Step 2: Go to "File" > "Options" > "File Types".

Step 3: Find and select "Microsoft PowerPoint 2007-2019".

Step 4: Under the "Common" tab, ensure that the option "Hidden content (shapes and slides)" is checked. This will allow Trados Studio to extract hidden content such as footnotes for translation.

Step 5: If you're working with a custom template, you'll need to adjust these settings in the template. You can edit a project template under "File" > "Setup" > "Project Templates".

Step 6: After making these changes, re-open your PowerPoint source file in Trados Studio.

This should allow Trados Studio to detect and extract the footnotes in your PowerPoint presentation for translation. If you're still having trouble, it might be worth checking if the footnotes are somehow hidden or formatted in a way that prevents Trados Studio from detecting them.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Best regards,
