Apparently my project settings were not attached: how can I attach them (I used to know, but forgot).

If it’s just a matter of adding the Footers (or Notes), I’d open your Project Settings and change the settings there and reopen the PowerPoint file in order to apply the new settings.

If you still need more settings, you can:

• create a new project based on the project template with the settings you need
• or apply the project template to your actual project using the plugin called Apply Studio Project Template (more info here: https://appstore.rws.com/Plugin/20). You’ll still need to reopen the PowerPoint file to apply the new settings.

If I had been able to attach the file page of my project settings (but on this one you are not helping me), you would have seen that I checked "notes" (and many more) for translation.

I created this new project starting from an older project in the same field, but... with an MS Word source file: might the issue lie here? are my PowerPoint settings coming too late? Should I delete this project and create a brand new one from scratch?

The setting for extracting PowerPoint notes relies on the PowerPoint filetype. If they old project had settings you don’t want, probably that’s why it didn’t work for you. Also, according to Paul Filkin, using very old settings with new releases of Trados Studio may not be a good idea. The reason is that you may be missing new features recently added to the filetype settings.

You have 3 options above. Use the one easier or that best uses the settings.
