Settings in QA Checker

Question

Dear colleagues, 
 For some time now, I always have to tick the boxes in the QA checker for each project when I want Trados to indicate if there are any errors. When I tick all the boxes I need in the options, these erros are not indicated, if I do the same in the project settings, it works. What do I do wrong? Can anybody help?

 Thank you very much for your answers. Thanks to your information I have now found the solution to the problem. As you correctly said, when the settings are not correct in the template, it is not adopted in my project. However, I did only now see where I can alter the settings for the templates (i. e. in the last step of creating my project, "All project settings"). Now everything is as I want it.

 Dear Ina, 
 Project Settings (those set via Project settings) always overrule profile settings (those set via File>Options). 
 If you create a project yourself via Projects > New, that project will contain the same settings as those you have set in your profile via File>Options. 
 Similarly, if you work via Translate Single Document, it will be governed by your profile settings made via File>Options. 
 Any project created externally, by a client through a package for example, will not have your profile settings, but those of the client. So, as AI says, you'll need to change any settings to your preferences individually in each project. 
 It may seem a pain but actually it protects any incoming settings or extras that need to be part of the project for correct work, e.g. file types. 
 It also protects your profile settings and keeps things clean and tidy. 
 
 One more thing, there are profile settings that are not affected by the project settings because they're not present in the project settings, but are global settings. 
 All settings under File > Options > Editor, for example: 
 Plus items such as colours, keyboard shortcuts... so, any settings that aren't present in the Project settings. 
 When you create a project, it will contain the settings under File>Options, your 'profile settings'. You can alternatively base a new project on it on a previous project so it will use the same settings, or on a project template that you have already created (for a specific client or language pair, for example)...

 Sorry I didn't see this, have been busy with preparations for the festive season. Last minute as always. 
 Jes&uacute;s has asked a logical question, if you're using a project template (or basing a new project on a previous one) then the settings from that template/project will apply. 
 When you say 'checking of numbers', do you mean the QA settings or a plug-in such as Trados Number Verifier? 
 Alternatively, are you referring to the number settings under Translation Memory and Auto-substitution? 
 Under Options this appears like this

These settings are based on language pairs, rather than on All language pairs. 
 There are also settings in any Translation Memory that may overrule those set under File>Options: 
 
 Can you post an image of the settings you're referring to?

 I did it 6 years ago for my own use: I will try to remember (Moreover, my Studio UI is in French). 
 
 You open Studio&rArr;Home&rArr;File (upper left corner)&rArr;Options&rArr;QA Checker 3.0 
 You go through all the settings (all lines but the last one) and select the options which best suit your needs and habits. 
 When you are through with all the settings, you open the last line (QA checker profiles)&rArr;Export settings and thus save what will be your personal QA Checker profile (*.SDLQASETTINGS file) in a place in your C:\ or D:\ drive and with a name easy to be remembered. 
 
 Later, when you create a new project, wholly new or based on a previous project or a template, or when you receive one from a client in a project package, in the project pane you open Prolect settings (upper left corner) &rArr; QA Checker 3.0&rArr;QA checker profiles&rArr;Import settings ant that's it! Of course, if you know for sure that the template or the previous project used to create a new project already incorporates your personal QA Checker profile, this last step is useless (Ce qui va sans dire va encore mieux en le disant - TALLEYRAND ).
