Error message "Attemtp to read or write to protected memory. This often indicates that other memory is corrupted." when locking numbers

Sometimes when we try to lock numbers in Studio 2022 (e.g. for annual reports) we get an error message and have to force quit Studio and recreate the project from scratch. The procedure has to be performed several times tobe able to lock the numbers.

We have tried to:

  • Create a project with the correct language combination and memory and filter on numbers only.
    After that we try to get all numbers that aren’t already in the memory using CTRL+Enter.
    Then we lock the numbers,
    Save,
    Close the file, and that’s when we get the error message.

  • Create a project with the correct language combination and memory and filter on numbers only.
    After that we try to get all numbers that aren’t already in the memory using CTRL+Enter.
    Then we lock the numbers a few at a time and saves in between.
    Close the file, and that’s when we get the error message.

  • Create a project with the correct language combination and memory and filter on numbers only.
    After that we try to get all numbers that aren’t already in the memory using CTRL+Enter.
    We then lock the numbers a few at a time, save and close the file. Then we open the file again and continue locking a few numbers, save and close the file and so on.
    Having done that a few times we get the error message.

  • Create a project with the correct language combination and memory and filter on numbers only.
    Then we unlock segments, save and close the file in studio and that's when we get the error message

It doesn't matter if it is a newly created memory for a new client or an old one.

This happens mainly on idml-files.

We have

  • tried to update Studio to the latest version
  • downloaded (and used ;)) the SDL TM Repair 
  • checked the project settings for indesign-files

For some of us, the problem occurs more frequently than for others, although we have the same studio settings. 

We work in PC and always use the latest updates. 

Has anyone had the similar problems or knows what we could do?
