When creating a new project, I got this error message "cannot find the file because it is being used by another process".
I proceed with the creation and then I got this message "you must include at least one translatable file".

I guess you can close the application of that file.

ok, I guess you closed the application to get here. What kind of file is that? I mean, is it a PNG, JPG, EXE, DLL? All of these files are non-translatable.
Is the file open in another application? Possibly in PowerPoint or in a crashed instance of PPT? Or in a browser? Does the same problem occur after restart of your PC?
Jerzy,
No, the file was not open and indeed the problem kept occurring after I restarted the PC.
Yes I can open it without any difficulty.
It is Trados Studio 2019. No, I am working on a PC.
What’s the path where the PPTX is saved?I guess you are not trying to open it from Outlook, for example?
How many MB is it?
When you open it, you have editable text, right?
Could you try saving it in your root Documents folder?
What did you do after this:
When creating a new project, I got this error message "cannot find the file because it is being used by another process".
and before this?
I proceed with the creation and then I got this message "you must include at least one translatable file".
Please post a screen shot with the error message "you must include at least one translatable file", so we can see what you are doing.
Thank you. Do you generally have this error or only with this particular file? If this is only that particular file, save it in different format (PPT instead of PPTX or the other way round) and with a new name. Did you change your system user since you installed Studio? New Windows, new password or similar?
Another possible reason is your old version of Studio, which may not "understand" a new PPTX file. The PowerPoint file type there will understand files programmed in 2018, not later.
