My SDL Trados 2014 does not want to open itself again!!!

Hello,

When i turned it off, my computer had a few updates to make... when I tried to resume my work, clicking on Trados icon only resulted in the display ofan error message : "une erreur s'est produite lors du chargement des services de plug-ins globaux!!!

It says it cannot find the appropriate resources for the culture specified on the disk. base name: Sdl.LCStudioIntegration.Common.plugin locationinfo: <null> filename: Sdl LCStudioIntegration.Common.plugin.resources.

Is there anyone who can help me? What can I do??? I have an urgent job to finish!!!

Hi Walter, I haven't... actually, I don't know where to find this repair.... I desinstalled the whole thing and reinstalled it... and now it works! Where is the "repair" button, for next time?

"Installation repair" is a standard Windows function that you will find in Windows' "Control Panel" (Panneau de configuration) under "Programmes et fonctionnalités". It displays a list of all programs that are installed on your PC, sorted by alphabetical order, and if you select one of them and right-click, you get the choice to uninstall or repair (and sometimes "Modify").

Hi Catherine,

I have checked your account and see that you upgraded from Studio 2014 to Studio 2015 back in July this year.

This means that the Studio 2014 license is no longer available to use -

Unlike PRO license users, those using FREELANCE versions are allowed to keep their existing licenses (after upgrading to a newer version) for a transitional period- allowing freelancers to complete ongoing projects, before moving to the upgraded version.

Unfortunately if any of the scenarios (most likely the computer updates you have described) take place (intentional or otherwise) then it is no longer possible to install or reactivate the older legacy version.

You can of course however continue using Studio 2015 without any restriction.
