[Bug Detected?] Phrase mxliff and Trados

Hi team,

I'm facing a critical issue, but not sure how to fix it.

I have a large file in the Phase (some segments were locked), and I need to do MTPE. There fore, I have carried out the following steps:

  1. Access the Phase and download the mxliff file.
  2. Open the mxliff file using Trados.
  3. Perform machine translation.
  4. Generate the target translation, get the MTed mxliff file.

But, if you see "Compare.png" attaced, you can see locked segments were changed :

Original : Seg.4 was un-lokced, Seg.5 was locked

Generated : Seg.4 was locked, Seg.5 was un-locked

Screenshot of Trados Studio interface showing a comparison of segments. Segments 4 and 5 display a lock status inconsistency between the original and generated translations.

The issue occurred after "Generate the target translation," so I though it might be a bug in Trados.

I have attached Source mxliff, Target mxliff and sdlxliff for your reference.

xliff file.zip

Please let me know if you need more information.

    I see what you mean.

In your source file you have where its marked as locked

In the SDLXLIFF format post translation
We see no target translation applied and the segment is still in a locked state

But when looking at the file generated the locked status is now false with translation (despite what your screen shots show)

Subsequently your original source which has locked=false

    now has a different state

What I am not sure about is why are both

    图鉴1·圣诞

    图鉴2·圣诞

coming through as segment 5 as noted below

When its clear these are 2 different segments in the source

I will dig deeper and update this post accordingly
