What is your keyboard shortcut for confirming a segment? You can check that from File - Options - Keyboard shortcuts. Please also check that you do not have any other commands that use the same Ctrl + Enter.

What change? The default shortcut has not changed and is still CTR-Enter in Studio 2024!
I suspect that you have inadvertently selected the wrong user profile (Trados instead of Default) when you installed Studio 2024.
If you did this, not only the shortcut for confirming a segment is different, but many others as well. 
This is why I suggest you go back to the default setting. 

Please go to "File - Setup - Manage User Profiles" and check what your current user profile is:

If is not "Default", click on "Change user profile" and revert to "Default". When prompted to save your current profile, you can select "no".

Hi Walter! Thank you so much for your help! I didn't expect I could so easily get help from these fora, and I regret I have not used those for so many years of using Trados! I changed my User profile as you recommended to Default. Does it mean, I will from now automatically use project templates or main TMs I previously used with Trados 22? Many thanks again.

No, the user profile only stores user settings such as keyboard shortcuts and other settings, but nothing project specific.
You can keep using the project templates and TMs you used in Studio 2022, they have not in any way been modified by the upgrade. 
The only thing you may need to check is: if you are missing some projects in your list of projects and want to reopen them, you need to manually open them from the folder  ..\Documents\Studio 2022. Alternatively, you may copy these projects from ..\Documents\Studio 2022 to ..\Documents\Studio 2022.  
For good practice, we recommend not to store projects in this default folder, but in a dedicated projects folder that you create, e.g. C.:\Trados

Yes, I am a bit confused with the folders. The most times when I create a new project and go to the string something "store it in a location", I receive the answer from the wizard that this folder (even if it is a new folder I just created within the Projects folder of the Documents folder!) is already occupied for another project or something like this. All times I tried it. Well, I am not that super IT guy. And I create other folders elsewhere. So it results in a lack of a perfect order in my Documents folder....

When you create a project, you always need to create a new subfolder for it. So the best is that you navigate to your projects folder (in this example it is "Ongoing Projects":



and select this folder. If the "Autofill" option is checked, Studio will automatically append the name of your project to the path and create a new subfolder named "Project1" in "Ongoing Projects":



This way, you end up with a subfolder for every project in the parent folder "Ongoing Projects".

Ok, thanks, I checked it and it works (i think, did not in Studio 22).

One more question: wouldn't be easier if I place the Studio 2024 folder (with all of it content)

 out on the Desktop? I mean, taking it out of the Documents Folder where it was stored automatically at download.

For me, it would be easier to create such a "shortcut", but, maybe, some connections will be disturbed?

No, don't move the \Documents\Studio 2024 folder! This would only create problems because it contains not only your project folders, but also additional useful information required by Studio
But, as I already suggested above, create a separate folder for storing your projects. This has the added advantage that you will still see your previous projects even if you upgrade to a newer version of Studio.

Hi Zoya,

In addition to Walter's excellent advice, I have a small thing to add...

It's also unwise to place anything large on your Desktop. The more you have on your Desktop, the slower Windows will be to open and to perform tasks. A shortcut to the desktop is easy to achieve and doesn't disturb any connections. The quickest way to do this is to right-click on the folder and select 'Send to...' > Desktop (create shortcut) as below:

It is important to keep as little as possible on your Desktop. So if you currently store huge quantities of data there, put them into folders in your Documents and add shortcuts to them as above.
