Trados 2024 - slow processing from something running in background, when confirm translation and move to next segment

Hi,

I'm using 12th gen intel CPUs with 32 GB of RAM. But trados studio 2024 have a short freezed period (1 - 10 sec up to segment sizing), when I confirmed and move to new segment of translation.

I noticed that, there is a loading bar at the bottom of the screen.

Is anyone facing this issue ?

Is there any solution to light weight the program, in order to run smoothly ?

Screenshot of device specifications showing a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400 processor and 32.0 GB of installed RAM on a Windows 11 Pro system.

About Trados Studio dialog box showing version 2024 - 18.0.0.1013 with copyright and license information including LGPL, GPL, Apache, and SafeNet.

Partial view of Trados Studio interface with a loading bar at the bottom and a message about mixed source language translation.

Thanks

  • Hello,

It seems like you're experiencing some performance issues with Trados Studio 2024. The loading bar you're seeing at the bottom of the screen is likely due to the software performing background tasks such as segment verification.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you disable the verification when confirming a segment, which might help improve the performance:

Step 1: Open Trados Studio 2024.

Step 2: Click on 'File' at the top left corner of the screen.

Step 3: From the dropdown menu, select 'Options'.

Step 4: In the Options window, navigate to 'Editor'.

Step 5: Under 'Editor', click on 'Automation'.

Step 6: Uncheck the box next to 'Enable verification of segment'.

Step 7: Click 'OK' to save your changes.

This should help to lighten the load on the program and allow it to run more smoothly. However, please note that disabling this feature means that Trados Studio will not automatically verify your segments when you confirm them, which could potentially lead to errors being missed.

If you continue to experience performance issues, it might be worth checking if there are any updates available for Trados Studio 2024. You can do this by going to 'Help' > 'Check for Updates' within the application.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Best regards,
