3. Rename Studio24 folder to Studio24_old

As this is connected directly to Windows settings, please tell us the exact version of Windows you are using.

Perfect. You can try to do the following:

• Open Windows settings
• Go to Apps
• Go to Standard Apps
• Scroll down to see "Set standard values according to file type"
• Type sdl in the search line
• Assign all file types accordingly

Please note, that I use German Windows, so the names may slightly differ.

A repair installation of Studio afterwards would be recommendable.

But I'm not allowed to assign some types of files: for instance .sdlproj and sdlrpx. Do you know how could it can be fixed?

If you click on "Trados Studio" you will be allowed to assign the file type. However, it looks like it is already assigned.

So I cannot explain why double click does not work. Did you restart your PC in the meantime? I mean really restart, not just close the laptop.

After your instructions, everything is working. Double-click is fixed and the icons came back in town as well!

Any clues for double-click on Multiterm files? Same issue. I've just done the same instructions, but it doesn't work for Multitrem...

MultiTerm will only open *.sdltb... Does it not do the same? Run repair installation of MT too.

After 2 repairs and 1 PC restart it works.
