Text Font Color Not Displaying as Expected

Hello,

I recently upgraded from Trados Studio Freelancer 2021 to 2024 and imported my profile from the previous version.

However, I’ve encountered an issue with the text font color. It doesn’t appear as I set it in the Editor Colors; it looks as though the color intensity is being reduced, almost as if there’s a filter applied.

As you can see in the screenshot, I selected a very light gray (almost white), but it’s displaying as a much darker gray in the editor.

I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions on how to resolve this.

P.S. In Studio 2021, it works as expected with the same configuration shown in the screenshot.

Screenshot of Trados Studio Editor Colors settings window with mismatch in text color. The selected text color shows a light gray RGB value (245, 245, 248) but appears darker in the editor.

  • The issue seems to be related to the configuration file of my profile imported from Trados 2021.

After removing a specific settings group from my profile file, the issue was resolved, and the color settings are now properly applied.

For anyone who might find this helpful:

    • The profile file can be found at: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio18\UserProfiles
    • The settings group that I deleted from the file is: <SettingsGroup Id="EditControlDisplaySettingsGroup">

Below is an image showing the "before" and "after" of deleting this part of the file.

Side-by-side comparison of Trados Studio interface before and after a settings change. The 'BEFORE' side shows rows with dark and light green color blocks, while the 'AFTER' side shows the same rows with uniform green color blocks, indicating improved color settings.
