I have a Microsoft Laptop Surface 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD with Snapdragon X Plus and have installed Trados Studio 2024. Everything works fine, except the ‘Insert Symbols’ function. I enter the Spanish symbols - the computer has a german keyboard -, they are saved and I use them, but when after restart Trados they disappear and I have to enter them again.
My technical knowledge is limited, but could it be caused by the processor? Any (other) ideas?

Even with a non-Spanish keyboard, you can enter keys such as áéíóúüñ. Just change the keyboard layout in Windows settings (in Windows 10, I think it's here):

Are you sure you save your job with the usual shortcut CTRL+S or clicking the floppy disk icon?
Do you mean that the non-Spanish characters remain and that only the Spanish characters are gone?
Could you please tell us the full version? It’s in Help > About Trados Studio.

Changing the keyboard layout might be an option if the problem can't be resolved.
The symbols don't disappear in the text, but in the function. I have to enter them again in the ‘Insert Symbol’ function.

So the symbols added in one session don’t stick after restarting Trados Studio. 
In the above example, É and Á are gone after I restart Trados Studio. Is this what you mean?
If so I can repro your issue, but I don’t know if this the expected behaviour… Confirm that and later I’ll ping someone from RWS.

Anyway, I’d select a German keyboard in Windows. This is much much better than inserting Spanish characters in that way or any other way.

No, it is not a software design problem.
I don't need to check the software for this one... it's not by design. In fact this was an important feature when it was released as a plugin back in 2014!

I can confirm that this is indeed caused by a defect (CRQ-39771 is the internal reference number) which affects both Studio 2022 and Studio 20224.
