Trouble with saving the document

I am having an issue with saving my documents. When I click Control+S to save my document, Trados is shutting down. What can I do to fix this bug? Also, I am receiving an error message saying that my access to Drive C is denied. I appreciate any solution offered. Thank you!

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more details such as the exact version of Trados Studio you are using, your operating system, and any recent changes you made to your system or software. Also, it would be helpful if you could share the exact error message you are receiving.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

It seems like you are experiencing issues with Trados Studio and Google Drive. This might be due to Google Drive trying to sync the files while Trados Studio is still using them. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Disable Trados Studio's Auto Save feature. You can do this by going to File > Options > Editor and unticking the 'Enable Auto Save' option.

Step 2: Close Trados Studio and delete the Auto Save folder. This is usually located at C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Studio 2021 (replace '2021' with your version of Trados Studio).

Step 3: If you want to keep the Auto Save feature and avoid the error, you can remove the Studio 2021 folder from Google Drive sync.

Step 4: If the error message 'The process cannot access the file... because it is being used by another process.' appears again, click OK, wait for the sync to complete, and try again to save.

Step 5: To avoid these errors altogether, you can remove the default folders for Studio saved at C:\Users\%username%\Documents\ and also the folder where you save your projects, from the Google Drive sync. You can do this by going to Google Drive in your browser, then to Computers > My Computer > Documents, select the folder C:\...\Studio 2021, and click on 'Remove'.

Please remember to replace '2021' with your version of Trados Studio in the steps above.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.

Hopefully you have resolved this already, but just in case... I think the most likely cause of the issue is permission problems on your system, or perhaps that you have a problem on your disk.  But here's a few suggestions:

    1. Run Trados Studio as an administrator.

    2. Check folder permissions for the target save location.

    3. Add Trados Studio to your antivirus exception list.

    4. If issues persist, reset Trados Studio settings.

    5. If none of the above work, run a disk check on Drive C.

Following these steps may help isolate the issue and get Trados Studio functioning correctly again.  But if not, and if you still have issues while everything else on your computer is functioning normally then come back and we can log a case for some help.
