Enter key to confirm placeables does not work

I just upgraded from Studio 2021 to Studio 2024 - 18.0.1.2259, in Windows 11 on Mac with Parallels.

When I use the Ctrl + , to open the list of placeables (tags, numbers, etc.) and select one, I can't use the Enter key anymore to select/confirm it. Same with predictive typing (from TM or Termbase), the Enter key won't work to confirm the suggested term/phrase, however the Tab key will.

This is new, I never had that issue in the past with previous versions of Studio. I have not made any other changes to my system (same machine, operating system, etc.)

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with the Enter key not confirming placeables or predictive typing suggestions in Trados Studio 2024. This could be due to a conflict in your user profile shortcuts. Here's how you can try to resolve this:

Step 1: Open Trados Studio 2024.

Step 2: Go to the "File" menu and select "Options".

Step 3: In the Options window, navigate to the "Keyboard Shortcuts" section.

Step 4: Look for the "Confirm" command. If the shortcut for this command is set to "Enter", change it to a different key.

Step 5: Also, check if the F4 key has been customized for different functions. If so, adjust these shortcuts to avoid conflicts.

Step 6: Click "OK" to save your changes.

Step 7: Restart Trados Studio 2024.

Please note that the SDLX user profile may have conflicting shortcuts, such as Enter for confirming segments, which worked previously but now requires a different shortcut. Adjusting these shortcuts to avoid conflicts and restarting Trados Studio should solve the problem.
