Studio 2015 compatibility problem with Office 2016

Dear all,

I'm about to start a 200,000 words project on Studio 2015 and I'm having a problem with the Reports functionality. I'm currently using SDL Trados Studio 2015 SR1 in a Windows 10 system with Office 2016 (only God knows why I decided to install the Office 365 update) and I have to translate a 45 MB Word (.doc) file. The thing is that it opens perfectly on Studio's Editor, but I'm unable to get a report on the file. In the Reports view I get a "System.Xml.Xsl.XslLoadException" compilation error. I tried creating a project on another computer (a friend's computer) with Studio 2015 (no SR1 update), with Windows 10 AND Office 2013, and it works. So I'm guessing there's a compatibility problem with Office 2016. Now, I only have my computer to work on this project, so I really need to solve this since there are more than 50% of repetitions in the document and that plays a fundamental role on my deadline.

I hope there's a way you can help me.

Best,

Damián

  • Hi Damián,

This isn't anything we are aware of yet, so we would like to try and reproduce this problem first in Support.  I have logged a support ticket on your behalf through the solution finder so we can do this, and if possible work with you to identify the problem.

You should have received a notification of the ticket and a support engineer will be in touch in due course.

In the meantime, can you see if you have the report xml files in the report folder of your project?  If you open the specific project folder you'll find the report folder in there and any created reports as xml stored inside.  If you do have these reports can you see if the CopyWordCount App works for you?

    Thanks

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,
Thank you for taking your time to reply this query. I have not received yet any notifications to start working on the problem. I hope I do it soon. Luckily, I've tried the CopyWordCount App and it works!
I'll be waiting for a support engineer to get in touch with me.
    Best,
