XML error happened to me to

Hi,

Yesterday, I did not manage to close down Trados properly, and today I received this error message:

Failed to load project from ´C\Users\svanb\OneDrive\Desktop\Project 3\Project 3.sdlproj´: There is an error in XML document (1549,39). Unexpected end of file while parsing Name has occurred. Line 1549, position 39.

PS: I have encountered difficulties to close Trados before many times, but never have this happened before. I cannot open Trados at all neither by clicking on Trados on my desktop, neither by clicking on different sdlppx files.

Thank you so much in advance!

Best regards,

Karin

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide the version of Trados Studio you are using and your operating system. Also, let us know if you have tried any troubleshooting steps already.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello Karin,

It seems like your Trados Studio project file (*.sdlproj) might have been corrupted due to the improper shutdown of the software. Here's how you can try to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Navigate to the location of the *.sdlproj file. The location is disclosed in the error message you received, in your case, it's 'C:\Users\svanb\OneDrive\Desktop\Project 3\Project 3.sdlproj'.

Step 2: Delete the *.sdlproj file. Please ensure to back up any important data before you do this.

Step 3: Start Trados Studio again.

Step 4: Recreate the project and include the original translation memory.

Step 5: Run the batch task 'Pre-Translate' to add all your translations back into your file(s).

If you're unsure about how to run the 'Pre-Translate' batch task, you can find instructional videos on the RWS AppStore.

If this doesn't resolve your issue, it would be helpful to know the exact version of Trados Studio you're using and any recent changes you've made to your system.
