MSG filetype not valid

After updating to SR2 - 17.2.12.19268 version (Trados Studio 2022), we are facing an issue with .msg format files.

An error message says that it is not valid while it is displayed on the list of filteype available.

This is an issue as we created a project with the previous Cumulative update and it is now a problem as we cannot open the project for a QA Check and generate the target file for our client.

  • It did not give a solution to fix the issue.
    It seems that the problem comes from the filetype. We've tried to open it in another software and it worked. Our translator was able to generate the file with the previous version.
    It is not possible for us to revert to the previous version of Studio.

    Thanks for sending the file.  I can reproduce with the attached:

    PF_01.msg

    So no need for your file and I have deleted it already.  I have also sent the one I attached here to support with an explanation of the issue.  Apparently this worked in the previous version of 2022 (I can't verify that, but support may install the older version to check), and I can verify that it works in 2024.  The support case number for reference is CS0006096.

    I'll update you when I know more, but for now the resolution is most likely to be using the current version of Trados Studio.

    I have spoken to the technical support team and they confirmed that there won't be another update for the 2022 version of Trados Studio, so your best bet is to either upgrade to 2024 or revert back to the previous verison of 2022 which you can find here: Installers
