Compatibility issue between my Trados Studio 2014 and current packages

To whom it may concerned:

My issue is actually not about licensing and installation but I didn't find the right option from the list.

My issue is the following: since my version of Trados Studio is quite old (2014), I've been having compatibility issues for a few years with packages that contain MULTIPLE FILES, namely: I almost always cannot open multiple files at the same time and I obtain an error message instead. Are there any fixes to that issue (which, I assume, must be quite common?). Like downloads, updates or the like?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Nils Amet

  • Hi Nils,

I'm afraid there are no updates or downloads aside those that were already available; actually engineering and technical support for Trados Studio 2014 and MultiTerm Desktop 2014 ended on June 30, 2017. Since this date, services covered under standard maintenance agreements - including technical support, license resets, updates and new patches - are no longer available.

The compatibility issues were bound to happen since Trados 2014 hasn't been updated after June 2017 at all, and we cannot guarantee that Trados 2014 can open file types versions that came after we stopped maintaining it.

You can read about the life cycle of Trados editions here: gateway.rws.com/csm

My suggestion is to move to the latest edition of Trados, to avoid these issues.

    Best regards,
