None of the solutions above worked, as I explained in my thread

Also, I checked for updates and there has not been one in a while (years)

Problem solved: I had to run analyze file repeatedly (and every attempt generated the same error message [statistics word count] and striked me out of the server - EVERY TIME).

Anyways, I justed oked every error message and repeatedly ran analyze file until the word count in the project file view's pane showed as "n/a". 

Only then, I was allowed to check in
