Did you do this before creating your project?
Are you sure the project template you're using for your project is the same one in which you made this setting?
Make sure you made the change to the PPT filetype and not PPTX if this is what you're using?
Can't really add much more than that without you showing how you set up, showing the options used, showing that the same filetype was used to open the PPT for translation.
