Trados Studio 2021 cannot open a package (..xliff.wsxz file)

As I need to move from my old PC (Win10) to a new PC (Win11), I installed Trados Studio 2021 to the Win11 machine.

I deactivated Trados on the Win10 machine, and activated Trados on the Win11 machine.

As far as I opened previous projects, I did not have any problem.

However, I could not open the package that I exported from World Server.

The downloaded package seems not to be linked to Trados Studio as seen with a blank icon (instead of Trados Studio icon) on top (see attached).

When I open the package so as to be associated with Trados Studio, Trados Studio opens but the project is not embedded.

Would you please let me know how I can fix this problem.

Question improvement suggestion: Please provide the exact error message you receive when trying to open the package, as well as any troubleshooting steps you have already taken.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello!

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with opening a World Server package in Trados Studio 2021 after migrating to a new PC. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

**Step 1:** Ensure that you have installed the World Server Compatibility Pack for Trados Studio 2021. This is essential for opening WSXZ packages. You can download it from the RWS AppStore.

**Step 2:** After downloading, close Trados Studio if it is running. Unzip the downloaded file and run the `World Server Components.msi` installer. This will install the necessary components.

**Step 3:** Once the installation is complete, reopen Trados Studio. Instead of double-clicking the WSXZ package, go to the Home tab and click on the "Open World Server package" button to open your package.

**Step 4:** If you still encounter issues, check for any duplicate names in your World Server project that might be causing the problem. You can do this by going to Management > Administration > Customization in World Server and checking for duplicates in the TD Entry and TD Term object types.

**Step 5:** If the problem persists, consider using a workaround by changing the file extension of the WSXZ package to .zip, extracting the contents, and removing the TBX and XCS files. Then, re-compress the remaining files into a new WSXZ package and try opening it again in Trados Studio.

**Step 6:** If none of the above steps work, please provide the exact error message you receive when trying to open the package, as this will help in diagnosing the issue further.
