Several problems after installing new Trados Studio 2024 SR1 - 18.1.2.6370, interface not resized and options not visible

Hello all,

I just updated to the new version of Trados Studio and I have had many problems, as it sadly seems to be usual thing lately.

I have managed to solve some, losing a lot o fime... but there are others that I simply cannot.

My interface is not ok, see the screen capture:

Screenshot of Trados Studio settings showing the 'General' section with options for activating autopropagation, minimum match value set to 100, and partially visible text in some options.

As you can(not) see, some options are only partially visible and some others are just not visible, like the "never" ask in autopropagation. I had to test several possible shortcuts until I could activate it.

Is this happening only to me?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Antonio

  • Hi

When a problem occurs after an update, the first thing to try is a Windows Repair of Studio (and MultiTerm components depending on what the problem is). This will repair software connections by checking for and replacing anything that is missing from the setup, for example.

    Here is how:

    1. Close all RWS applications.
    2. Open the Control Panel:
      • Windows Vista/7: Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
      • Windows 8: Right-click on the screen at bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.
      • Windows 10: Right-click on Start > Control Panel > Select View by: Small Icons > Programs and Features.
      • Windows 11: As Windows 10, or go to Installed Apps by typing the name in the search bar
    3. Click/highlight the relevant RWS product from the list of installed programs, e.g. Trados Studio 2024 SR1 and navigate to Repair
      • New Control Panel app has active only the Uninstall button - click on Uninstall and a new window will appear with the Repair option
    4. Restart Trados Studio.

    There are further options here:

Repairing your installation of Trados Studio

Also, you need to update MultiTerm to the latest version, after which you may need to repair that, as shown here:

If the above doesn't help, come back and let us know and someone from the Support team will be able to look into this for you.

    All the best,
