Hi, my SDL Trados Studio is consistently shutting down generally without any error message. But often display the message on the following screenshot. Note that I have tried several solutions in vain, including, uninstalling and reinstalling.

It is causing me a huge waist of time on an already limited deadline.

I will highly appreciate any assistance to fix this issue. Thank you!

Question improvement suggestion: Please provide the exact error message displayed when Trados Studio shuts down, as well as the operating system version you are using.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with Trados Studio shutting down unexpectedly after the recent update. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

**Step 1:** Check for Windows Updates

Make sure your operating system is fully updated. Go to the Start menu, type "Check for updates," and install any available updates. Restart your computer afterward.

**Step 2:** Repair Trados Studio Installation

    1. Close all RWS applications.

    2. Open the Control Panel.

    3. Navigate to Programs > Programs and Features.

    4. Find Trados Studio in the list, right-click on it, and select "Repair."

    5. Restart Trados Studio after the repair process is complete.

**Step 3:** Reset Trados Studio Settings

    1. Close all RWS applications.

    2. Navigate to the following folder:

      `C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\`

    3. Rename the folder corresponding to your version (e.g., Studio2024) to something like `Studio2024_old`.

    4. Restart Trados Studio to see if the issue persists.

**Step 4:** Check for Conflicting Plugins

If you have any third-party plugins installed, they might be causing the issue. Navigate to the Plugins folder in the same directory as above and rename it to `Plugins_old`. This will disable all plugins. Restart Trados Studio and check if it opens without crashing.

    **Step 5:** Antivirus Interference

Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with applications. Temporarily disable your antivirus and try launching Trados Studio again. If it works, consider adding the Trados Studio installation folder as an exception in your antivirus settings.

If the problem continues after trying these steps, please provide any specific error messages you encounter, as well as your operating system version, so we can assist you further.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.
